          Before his retirement in , Keith was Head of Deptford Green School, a mixed comprehensive in South East London.

          Under his leadership the school gained a national reputation for its work in citizenship education.

          The intention of this article is to give a brief history of myself as a mixed- race person and to reflect on how I have contextualised myself.
